Thomas Dalton, broker, London
« on: 29 September, 2011, 21:26 »
I am researching Thomas Dalton, born about 1732, who was a broker in Bishopsgate Street, London. He became a broker in 1770 and worked at that occupation until his death in July 1784.

I don't know who he married. (There is a marriage recorded for a Thomas Dalton to Sarah Fields on 8 Feb 1740 at St. Giles, Cripplegate, but I don't know if this is the right one.)  He had two daughters, Mary and Sarah.  Sarah was born about 1761. She first married Francis Watters in 1779 in London, and then Rev. Dr. James Lindsay in 1791.

Margaret Cockburn, a widow who kept an academy for young men in Newington Green, is an aunt of Mary and Sarah Dalton, but I don't know how they are related.

Does anyone know anything of this family?
