Daniel Dalton Jr & Sr made clocks in the village of Church Lawford, Warwickshire, during mid to late 18th C & early 19th C. They were, however, preceded by clockmaker Christopher Holtum, also of Church Lawford, who carried out his work in the early to mid 18th C (d 1749). It seems more than likely that Daniel Dalton Sr knew Christopher Holtum and possibly served an apprenticeship with him.
I would like anyone who has information concerning a possible relationship - such as that suggested above - between Daniel Dalton Sr and Christopher Holtum to get in touch.
