Anastatia DALTON & Martin Stapleton
« on: 13 April, 2012, 01:04 »
Anastatia & Martin were married in St. Canices church, Kilkenny 11 February 1839. Their first born child THOMAS baptised same place 13 November 1839, recidence is CHAPELL HILL. Anastatia & Martin emigrated to Port Jackson, NSW, Australia in June 1840 and arrived aboard the ISABELLA 18 October 1840. Within 5 weeks Thomas had died, and was buried in Sydney, address Pitt St....before August 1841 the couple arrived in Auckland, New Zealand, as we know that they each gave 1 pound to build the very first catholic church in Auckland.
Anastatias parents were Richard DALTON & Margaret HICKEY, her known siblings were James b 1803, John 1806, William 1809 & Michael 1816...Anastatia ca 1820.All Keatingstown or Chapell Hill.
Should anyone have info regarding the above family either in Kilkenny or New Zealand please respond. I'm extremely interested in the family before they emigrate.
Richard DALTON lived in Grange Road, St Canice Parish in 1849, but is likely to have died before 1850.
