Websites for Irish Research
« on: 04 January, 2009, 15:51 »
The following are websites that I think might help with researching in Ireland:

http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie  -  information contained in Griffith's Evaluation  - names, townlands, occupiers, owners, etc.

http://waterfordcountylibrary.ie/en  -  Right-hand lower corner are links for the OSI Historical Mapping Archive (can be printed;
                                                    large sizes can be bought) and Griffith's Primary Evaluation of Ireland and a link for the
                                                    Irish Times Digital Archive (paid subscriptions, but can be for only one day).
                                                    Left-hand upper corner, there is a listing for Family History, and from there you can get into
                                                    a Death Register for Waterford County.  There is also a lot more information for Waterford
                                                    County on this site.

I tried the links as posted, but they both failed.

Maybe you meant these?

http://www.waterfordcountylibrary.ie/en/

The ending slashes are important...

Also, there is of course the Dalton Data Bank Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland Sections http://www.daltondatabank.org

The 1911 census for Ireland is now online, free.  The 1901 census will be added later.

The national records office for Northern Ireland also has an email site with searchable records.

Thanks for the information.

I have added links on the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland web pages in the Dalton Data Bank.
