Hi I'm trying to find out a little more about my Great Uncle's life in the USA. In particular it would be great to know;
a) details of when he emigrated from Ireland to the USA?
b) any details of data held on the various USA censuses?
Below is a summary of the information that I have to date:
1901 - Ireland Census: aged 6. Resident in Maudlintown Whiterock South (Distellery Rd) Wexford Town, Ireland
1911 - Ireland Census: aged 16. Resident in Bride St, Wexford Town. Occpn - shop porter.
1926 - When John's mother died the burial register names 'John Dalton' (then the eldest son still at home) as 'managing the internment'
1926 onwards - Moved at some point to the USA with his wife Elizabeth ('Aunt Lizzie' from Barntown).
1930 - USA Census. I noticed a possible entry - resident in Hartford, Connecticut (with Elizabeth b1898)
1968 - Died in Brooklyn, N.Y. Interred in Brooklyn after mass in St.Ignatius R.C Church on Wed March 13th.
Buried in St.Patricks cemetery. (My mother has a memory card for him). No Children.
