Ancestors in the US / Eber Dolton/Dalton
« Last post by sjs867 on 20 February, 2012, 17:02 »
Hi. I am trying to verify the identity of my great grandfather's father. I have been told that Eber Dolton's father was William Calvin Dalton/Dolton. His mother is listed on the 1900 federal census as Notie Monroe Chadwick. But his father died before 1900 and I can not find any official link to him and William Calvin. Do any of you have any information on this family? Thank you, Suzanne ( Eber is buried in Girard Cemetery in Phenix City, AL with his wife Edna Vestula Kite Dolton. Eber was born in Walton County, Ga. Eber and his wife both died in December of 1936. His father must have died between 1887 and 1900.)

Looking for the ancestors of John Dalton born in Manchester in 1813 (some sources say 1815/16) and died in London, 10 Aug 1894. He married Mary Ann Dewey (1813-1882) and their daughter was Hannah Dalton (1851-1917) who married Joseph Courcha (1822-1893).

Ancestors in the UK / James S. Dalton and Jeannie V. Smith Dalton
« Last post by MarilynW on 18 February, 2012, 02:29 »
I have been researching James S. Dalton and Jeannie V. Smith.  I believe that James may have been born in Hardford, Conn around 1863 and Jeannie was born in New York in 1872.  They died in the Mount Vernon, New Rochelle area of NY. He died 9 Dec 1923 and she died 5 Dec 1918.  They had Sidney Alphonse, Edward John, Sylvester John and John Raymond Dalton.  John Raymond was married to Edna Grace Wicht.  Edward John and Sylvester John were twins.  I have some other info on their wives and children.  I have some info on where some of them are buried.  If you are familiar with this family and would like to share notes, it would be great to hear from you!

Hi all,  I am related to John Dalton who married Catherine Markey in Tasmania in 1866.
John was a convict tried & sent from Co Kilkenny, Ireland to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) in 1847.
I am their 2 x great-granddaughter, originally from Hamilton NZ but now living in Australia.
Have info to share - my research mainly is aimed at getting more info from their Irish History pre 1847 which is difficult as so many records were destroyed.
I have also visited Tasmania and have taken quite a few photos and visited the church in which they were married in New Norfolk.
